With stunning landscapes and remote settlements, the area has remained largely untouched by tourism and retains its authenticity, offering a glimpse of life the way it used to be in Peru. You will meet traditionally dressed Andean farmers, and wander markets trading as they have done for centuries, see thatched stone and adobe houses and watch herds of llamas and alpacas roaming free.
We leave from Cusco early in the morning by bus and travel through the Sacred Valley, in the way we will see towns like Qorao, Taray, Pisaq, Qoya, Lamay and Calca arriving to Lares we spend the morning in the medicinal hot springs, and after lunch we have three hours of trekking to our campsite and in the way we will appreciate the flora and fauna of the place finally We will arrive to our camp in Huacahuasi.
After the breakfast we will continue our trek until Auroraqasa continuing up through the valley. We will observe people who produce some of the finest weavings in Peru. Their great skills and brilliant techniques as they make ponchos and other garments. Passing the village we begin climbing up to Condor Pass, the second pass of the trip at (4300 MASL) from here we catch a stunning view of the snowed Mount Veronica (5750 MASL) Descending gently for about one hour, we will get to the beautiful Epsaycocha Lake, our last campsite.
Today our trail leads downhill to an overlook facing a wide valley. Descending into the valley, we eventually arrive at the community of Willoq, where we have lunch. Finally we will arrive to Ollantaytambo situated in a fertile river valley and sheltered by mammoth mountains, this ancient Inca village is considered one of the most important living museums in the world, here the group takes the train to Aguas Calientes. After an early breakfast, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu. There we will register and start a guided tour for about 2:30 hour then we will have time to take pictures or climb up to Huaynapicchu (aditional cost) after that we will get down by bus to Aguas Calientes town to take the train to Poroy and then a bus to Cusco.
