Leaving from your hotel in Cusco or the sacred valley by bus to Piscaycucho (Km 82 of the railroad) we start trekking through a little section of the trail crossing the Urubamba River to then reach Llaqtapata. We will continue on the classic Inca Trail, through the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, surrounded by incredible landscapes and mountain scenery, entering Machupicchu the way the Incas did, through Inti Punku (the Sun Gate), with a guided tour of the citadel, returning to Cusco in the afternoon on the last day.
Transfer from hotel in Cusco or the sacred valley to Ollantaytambo town by bus, we will stay at Ollantaytambo about a half hour. Then we will continue going by bus until Piskacucho (82 kilometer of the railway) to start our trek. This day we will walk until Wayllabamba town (3100 MASL) here we will spend the night. In the trek we will visit the Patallacta Archeological Group.
This day we will have to cross the Warmiwañusca pass (4200 MASL) where we will be able to see beautiful mountains, valleys, and snowy mountains. After that we will continue walking down to Pacaymayu (2650 MASL) here we will camp.
In this day we will visit some wonderful archeological sites, some of them are: Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and finally Wiñaywayna (2650 MASL) here we will camp.
Early in the morning we will walk for about 2 hours until Inti Punku, where we could have an spectacular view of Machupicchu, after that we will continue walking to get the Archeological Sanctuary of Machupicchu, where we will have a guided tour for about 2 and a half hours, after that we will have free time to take pictures, climb to Waynapicchu (additional cost) or just walk around Machu Picchu. After that we’ll get down by bus to Aguas Calientes town where we will take the train to poroy and then a bus to Cusco.
