Short Description

Choquequirao is the lost city of the Incas, where they fled since 1536 after the encroaching. It is located in the Vilcabamba valley in the rain forest at 3300 MASL. This archelogical center is considered as important as Machupicchu.


Day 1 CUSCO - CACHORA - CHIKISKA:

Early in the morning we will travel for 2:30 hours from Cusco to Curahuasi located at 3600 MASL. We will continue to the town of Cachora for a lapse of 1:00 hour where we will contact ourselves with our muleteers to begin the walk of 5 hours aprox. In the trek we will appreciate the great canyon of the Apurímac this day we will camp in Chikiska.


Day 2 CHIKISKA - MARANPATA:

After breakfast we will begin to descend walk along the edge of the river Apurímac until the deep of the canyon Apurimac. We will observe impressive geographical panoramas of mountains and snowy, with this wonderful landscape. Then we will cross a rustic cable car to begin to ascend for 2 hours aprox until our camp, that will be in an area with a special climate, denominated Marampata.


Day 3 MARANPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO - CHIKISKA:

After breakfast we will continue our ascent from 2 to 3 hours aprox. Until Sunchupata where we will appreciate “Choquequirao ", when we will arrive to Choquequirao we will have a guided visit for 3:00 hours. After lunch we will go back to Chikiska.


Day 4 CHIKISKA - CACHORA - CUSCO:

Early in the morning we will take our breakfast and we will begin the ascent until cachora in the trek we will past per Capuliyo for 4 hours aprox. We will be arriving at the town of Cachora to having lunch, then we will take our bus to your hotel in Cusco or the sacred valley. OPTIONAL: We can visit to saywite and the hot springs of Q`onoc.
